ARPITA BASU INTERVIEWS RAJEEV KHANDELWALTell us about the show.
It showcases supercars from across the world, each episode spotlights a different car. It is a bonanza for car lovers.Which of the cars did you like best?
They are all dream cars, but the one I would pick is the Rolls-Royce Phantom. The look of the car is really masculine.
You’ve got a rugged avatar for Super Cars.
Yes, in the promos I am pumping a lot of iron, which is not something I do usually! In the episodes, my outfits will complement the particular cars that I will be showcasing.Have cars always been a passion?
I had my share of Lamborghini posters while growing up, but cars were not a passion till three years ago. That is when I bought a Scorpio suv and customised it with the help of a specialist. That drew me into the technology. What changes did you make?
I am an avid camper and redesigned it to suit my needs. The car is canary yellow, and I made it a four-seater with plenty of room to accommodate camping gear. It has an extra fuel tank, a refrigerator and digital additions. How has the response to your film Soundtrack been?
Very encouraging. The credit goes to the director; I only did what I was asked to do.Any new films?
I’ll be in Raakh by Tanuja Chandra, next. Will Sacch ka Saamna 2 hold any surprises?
You cannot tamper too much with the DNA of the show, but there will be innovations. Television or films—which do you prefer?
Each has a different identity. I am restless and want to do projects that break new ground and extend my range as an actor. Each film offers a different story and that is satisfying. No more serials for you, then?
I have already done soaps. Why repeat myself? Why go back to that safe zone?
