Ever since we heard stories about this show on journalists, there have been rumours that it is a copy of the international series called The Newsroom – but that’s not true claims producer Shrishti Behl
Rajeev Khandelwal is back on TV with an exciting show opposite Kritika Kamra on Sony TV. We were at the press conference yesterday and realised that the show is actually nothing like its supposed counterpart in the west. Here are 3 reasons why we think so…#If
you’ve been an ardent viewer and fan of The Newsroom – the international series, you’ll realise that the central plot of the show is based on real life incidents. Be it politics or crime, everything is surrounded around real issues that have happened and created a wave in the west. However, Shrishti Behl – the producer of Reporters claims that the Sony TV show will not be focusing or taking up real issues.#The
romantic angle in The Newsroom is very subtle and not the main premise of the show. However in Reporters, it is going to be all about how Rajeev aka Kabir and Kritika, who plays Ananya fall in love.#According
to the Kritika Kamra, the show will also highlight office politics between colleagues and the hierarchy. “In every office, you will find people who are friends and some who hate each other. Everyone will have an opinion they value more than the others. The show will focus on all that,” said Kritika. From the three seasons of The Newsroom that’s gone on air, it is clear that the internal politics is to a minimum. The team in the series showcases a rather united front.
A source close to the show also claims unlike Newsroom, which focused on the content during news hour, Reporters will concentrate on stings and scoops. Well that clearly says it all, no?
Sony TV’s Reporters, which will go on air on April 13, 2015, will be a mix of the usual television romance with the tadka of journalism in it. In a way, we are glad that the show will be nothing like the international series, aren’t you?
