| Reporters TV review: Rajeev Khandelwal and Kritika Kamra are authentic as journalistsTue, April 14, 2015 4:33am IST by Letty Mariam Abraham Sony TV’s new show is definitely a welcome change from saas-bahu sagasThe first episode of Rajeev Khandelwal and Kritika Kamra’s Reporters went on air today and we are mighty impressed with the story, characterisation, filming and the concept. StoryReporters is touted as a love story set in a newsroom. The show starts with Kabir (Rajeev Khandelwal) talking to a class of journalism students, explaining to them what reporting is and what the hunger for news means. Kabir is one of the top journalists in the city who is known for his networking, his promptness for great news and the rules he bends to get it. Ananya Kashyap (Kritika Kamra) is a junior reporter, who like any other journalist is earnest and one day hopes to create a difference with the work she does. She is a fan of Kabir and his work; and aspires to do great work like him one day. The field of journalism is a cut throat industry where there is no room for errors, mediocrity and emotions; exactly what Kabir preaches and does. The GoodEvery actor has been cast with great precision and one can expect only great performances from each one of them. Rajeev showcases the hold over his position as one of the top journalists in the country with ease. In the classroom his stance and body language exudes the power to keep you engaged and at work he has the attitude to get the right news without being beat by competition. Kritika gives you a glimpse into the life of a newbie reporter. She shows off a desire to learn from the best beautifully. While she still comes across as a little chirpy like her character in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, she showcases the hunger to prove herself as a reporter correctly. The sets of the show don’t look over the top, unlike most shows. The makers have kept the show as real as possible – from the sets, to the life of a journalist to the politics outside the newsroom. Goldie Behl has given the show a very international feel. There is this once dialogue that Kabir says at the end of the first episode which sets the pace of Reporters – Sachai, achai aur kamyabi kabhi saath nehi chal sakte (Truth, goodness and success can never go hand in hand). The BadFrankly, there is very little once can criticise about. The scene where Ananya climbs on top of the desk to make a point seems a little too over the top and something very unlike what a reporter would do. The background music in the show could have been much better and catchy. And just half an hour for a show like this seems a little too less. VerdictReporters gives a very international feel, has great performances and a brilliant storyline for now. It’s an ideal soap to invest in emotionally for viewers who are looking for good quality shows in India. | Rajeev Khandelwal’s Reporters gives workplace drama an edge!by Diana Lydia April 13, 2015 Featured Sony TV’s highly anticipated series, Reporters, made a world premiere worth remembering. The show marking the comeback of Rajeev Khandelwal to television created a major buzz with its sensational first look trailer in which Rajeev was shown being slapped by Kritika Kamra and now it was time to test the waters. The curtains raise with Kabir (Rajeev Khandelwal), an ace reporter for KKN, lecturing students on the dos and don’ts of journalism. His character, firm, strict, goal orientated and focused. On the other hand, we are introduced Ananya Kashyap’s (Kritika Kamra), who is a junior reporter at KKN. Her character, played to the tee, was a breathe of fresh air in this fast paced robotic world of media. In its first episode alone, Reporters manages to entice the audience with a crisp and clear message – these reporters mean business! While Rajeev Khandelwal’s robust performance screams ‘I’m back!’, Kritika Kamra adds both beauty and brains to the functionality of the show. A bold and daring venture, we hope the show continues to keep the upbeat pace with which it began! Catch Reporters on Sony and tell us what you thought of the show! | 5 Reasons Why We Loved Rajeev Khandelwal and Kritika Kamra's 'Reporters'
The first episode of "Reporters" clears the rumors that the show is inspired from the international series - The Newsroom, but it definitely offers something interesting for the Indian audiences to watch which is different from the saas bahu sagas. Rajeev Khandelwal and Kritika Kamra’s Reporters can easily be benchmark for future shows, who hope to do something different and creative without getting in the rut.
Here are five reasons why the show really impressed us...
1) Rajeev Khandelwal’s comeback to television with this show has been a wise decision. After doing shows like Kahiin Toh Hogaa and Left Right Left, nothing short of perfection is expected from the talented actor. Thankfully the actor delivered that with his performance as Kabir Sharma in Reporters. He exuded a character who is a perfectionist and an ambitious like it’s really him.
2) After doing "Kuch Toh Loh Kahenge" and "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa," Krtika had sort of vanished from the face of the earth. When we spoke to her recently, Kritika said, “I am being very choosy with the kind of roles I pick up next. I don’t want to do the same thing over and over again. Unless something really challenging comes my way, I don’t want to come back to TV.” Looks like she stuck to her word. Kritika as Ananya is strong headed, fearless and intuitive, but also very impulsive. The actress portrays the desperation to achieve the impossible and challenging with utmost ease. Clearly it was worth the wait to see Kritika play this role.
3) The storyline is not about what’s really happening in the world - so there is no gyaan and no preaching. The show concentrated on the kind of drama that goes on in a newsroom and how stories affect the life of these journalists, the owners, investors and almost everyone behind the camera.
4) The prospect that the show will talk about office romance, politics, hierarchy, gossip and daily drama in the news agency is definitely exciting.
Goldie Behl who decided to come on board as the director of the show has not gone over the top with his filming. He kept it very real and as authentic as possible. The look and the feel of the show is very international something that is very rarely seen in Indian daily soaps.
5) Besides keeping it real, we love Ananya and Kabir’s dressing sense in the show. While it’s is true that reporters have now become very glamorous, we liked that Kritika’s character takes the effort to look different and in with time and fashion. As for Rajeev, well we doubt the actor has ever looks so suave and sexy before.
"Reporters" airs on Sony TV from Monday to Friday at 9 pm.

| Sony TV's Reporters IMPRESSES14 Apr 2015 05:28 PM | TellychakkarTeam What is news? Who makes it? How is it made? Sony Entertainment Television’s latest presentation Reporters (Rose Audio Visuals) has all the answer. The first episode that was telecast yesterday night at primetime proved to be an edgy watch. The makers wasted no time by beating around the bush and introduced their trump card right away - Rajeev Khandelwal. The man who was a television heartthrob once upon a time, showed yet again why there are not many in the industry who can match his class on the small screen. At the very outset, it is established that Rajeev (Kabir Sharma) is one of the most sought after journalists in town. The opening shot has him deliver a guest lecture at a prestigious journalism school explaining the true essence of news to rookie students. " Khabar ek nasha hai,"(News is a drug) proclaims Rajeev as the stunned class looks on. The action then moves to the field where the pretty Kritika Kamra and her cameraman arrive at a hospital to capture the plight of a pregnant woman who had difficulty in reaching the hospital owing to American President's visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan. Fortunately, the baby is delivered well in time to avert any mishap and Kritika reports live about the incident. The reportage earns her rave review from her editor-in-chief but earns the flak of her news organization's boss who flays the Editor for running a news story where the baby and mother were both alive and kicking. The Editor is shown the door and feelers are sent out to Rajeev to join the company. The episode ends with Kritika and her cameraman getting busted up while shooting a sting operation involving the discreet marriage of an old politician with a young girl. And the hand behind the bust up was none other than of Rajeev. The first episode of Reporters works perfectly like a teasing mini skirt worn by a leggy lass. It teases you, reveals a bit leaving you wanting more. That journalism is not the holier than thou land and Rajeev not the holy cow is established. This is a land where Darwin's survival of the fittest resonates at the highest octave. Rajeev Khandelwal proves to be a complete showstealer. He is the perfect journalist. Suave, street smart and a glib talker. He has a nose for news and perfectly portrays the man who is ruthless when it comes down his knocking the sting out his competition. Kritika Kamra plays the enthusiastic new reporter to the T. Her mannerisms are something we at Tellychakkar.com can perfectly identify with. Sony deserves a good applause for spinning out the true behind-the-scenes tale of the goings on inside a newsroom. With a start like yesterday, we are sure more skeletons will tumble out of the closet and we won't be surprised if we see you questioning the well-known anchors and news items of our country after watching Reporters. Let truth prevail. http://www.tellychakkar.com/tv/reviews/sony-tvs-reporters-impresses-150414 | |

| Sony TV’s Reporters impresses Written by Ritika Sharma
The clean characterization by the creatives leads to success of first episode of Rajeev Khandelwal-Kritika Kamra’s Reporters on Sony TV. The episode begins with Kabir (Rajeev Khandelwal) being successful reporter of a news paper uses manipulative techniques to represent truth – a truth coming out with help of lies, deceits and manipulations. On the other hand Ananya (Kartika Kamra) is a reporter who is working with KKN channel and have no idea of manipulations plus she is agreat admirer of Kabir.

Performances:
Rajeev – Kritika has done justice to their characters totally. Rest characters too doesn’t seemed to be misplaced. The characters have potential to grow.
Direction:
A different kind of direction is given to all together different kind of story. Characters gives a real life feel and they appear at appropriate timings in show.
Story:
The story is unveiled only by the amount it needed to in the first episode. Characterization is strong and characters leave an impression. Story has a hidden feel and apparently shall not reveal its fullest until it lasts. The suspense will keep audience urge to know more intact.
